The old saying goes is that the sequel is never as good as the original. Well, the sequel for the Rogue Squadron games made only for the Game Cube. Rebel Strike was advertised very nicely, and my friend bought this for my birthday. I hate it when the game just is not up to par, you can't just tell the dude, "Hey that present you got me sucked" because the game just wasn't that great..
The game tries to add action while your player is on foot. You even have access to walkers, walking those huge walkers in Empire Strikes Back and the smaller deadly ones from Return of the Jedi. The gameplay here is really frustrating trying to operate your guy on land. It can be really difficult to manuever, as well as attempting to aim with your blaster at stormtroopers or aiming heavy guns at enemy walkers and infantry. The gameplay is really poor and fake looking, it looks like somthing out from the SNES days. It seems the only improvements in this game have been the graphics during flight.
The good thing with this game is that the flying levels are really fun. I especially like flying the Jedi Starfighter and dropping seismic charges on other ships in a level near Gelonosis. You also need to protect a Rebel convey from a huge Empire offensive as you try to evacuate Hoth. Before that, you can play as Luke and take out a pair of big walkers like he did in the movie (the only sweet part you can play while on foot). Other than that, I would rent this game, definatly not a game that just fell short of par.

Impressive when it stays on the air; lackluster when it descends to the ground
