Episode 1: Racer was a classic. Racer Revenge is a legend.

Podracing...best sport in Star Wars. The speed, danger and fame are enough to get anyone into it. Episode 1: Racer was great and I still play it to this day. Racer Revenge expands on what it started.

It may be a racing game, but it does have a story. It has been eight years since the Boonta Eve Race that saw the freedom of young Anakin Skywalker. The former champion, Sebulba has never been the same since. Another Boonta is coming up and Sebulba wishes to settle the score with Skywalker. You may choose one of these two racers and settle it once and for all or you can choose one of the other 18 and interfere.

The game includes 18 racers (5 locked) and 13 tracks. The roster includes classic Podracers (Sebulba, Gasgano, ect.) and a few new ones. The tracks are quite satisfying, however they're quite short and it would have been better if there were more.

Gameplay has improved since the last game. A faster frame-rate makes it feel like you're actually there. Another added part of gameplay, is the ability to KO opponents. This was shown in the movie, but wasn't really effective in Episode 1: Racer.

Graphics are very well done. Surprising since this was a 2002 game. The environments, pilots and pods are greatly detailed. Sound suffers in this game. It seems that LucasArts just took some tracks from old Episode 1 games and pasted them onto this game. Heck it doesn't matter, because when you're way out in front, the music stops. The sound effects and pilot yells make up for that.

So if you're looking for a great racing game, pick Racer Revenge up. It is worth the buy.

May the force be with you...
