Wow! With a plethora of Star Wars games on the market Jedi Outcast stands out as a solid game that's still fun to play.

I first downloaded that demo to this game back in 2002 on my mac at my job at school (yeah it was that kind of job). I was so enamored by the gameplay and the character that I had to buy the whole game.

What's unique to me about this game is its ability as a 1st person shooter to switch to a 3rd person action (Jedi) with out losing control or being thrown out of the story or action. And yes the light saber battling is weak, mostly just button smashing. It was the first game that I really felt like I was playing as a Jedi.

There is nothing cooler than comping up on some storm troopers and just force pushing them over a ledge to their death, as opposed to blasting them.

This was the first game to incorporate (well) the mechanics of Force wielding powers and have a system of upgrade to it, so that by the end of the game your using you force power and light saber much more than clumsy blaster.

The only real disappointment with this game was its sequel, Jedi Academy, but I'll save that for my other review. Having a few more vehicles to drive would have been nice as well but still this a classic Star Wars game that even players who aren't wearing C3P0 pajamas will certainly enjoy.
