A pretty good game for the Star Wars fans...

I hadn't played a Star Wars title for quite some time. I played the new Unleashed game a while back and now decided to play this classic.

Though this game is a bit dated it definitely can be pretty fun. The depth of weapons and force skills you have really makes things a lot of fun though in many cases you simply are forced to use your blast weapons due to enemy distance. Regardless, this one definitely is one of those classic games in the Star Wars universe and our hero Kyle definitely fits the mold.

Graphically this one is definitely a bit dated. It got somewhat frustrating on more than one situation having no idea where to go simply because the graphics were blocky enough or what not that you couldn't necessarily figure out which direction to go. I had to check the walkthroughs more than once to get it all figured out which is a bit frustrating. Typically I only use a walkthrough to know how far I am through a game and little to nothing else.

Probably my biggest complaint with this game is that some of the gameplay was just finnicky at different points through the game. You'd try to do something a few times and it wouldn't work and you'd find out later that you just didn't do the technique exactly right to land on the ledge, find the place to go, etc. Because of things not working the first couple tries I found myself second guessing what I was doing and wasting a bunch of time only to find that I WAS on the right track but some random thing with gameplay didn't work quite right.

I'm a big "story guy" so I was a bit disappointed with the average story in this one. The end really was weak too. Desann was quite easy compared to some of the others in the game and at the end Luke is like,"Nice job, have a nice vacation." Close, credits, done. A lot of this is probably just the age of the game more than anything else.

If you're a Star Wars fan this is a must play. I think I'm going to go get Jedi Academy now as I'm finding myself on a bit of a sci-fi binge at the moment. :)
