the only real good star wars games have been the KOTOR series and i personally did not like those games at all. i am just not a rpg fan. i was pretty excited about this game when i saw some trailers it looked really cool. and its a decent game but as in typical star wars fashion, something always pulls it back from greatness. its a star wars beat me up but its done with style. you play as obi wan or anakin in the main story mode and have all sorts of moves, kicks, grapples, and force powers at your disposal and all of them are pretty cool. there are some instances where cetain force powers are crucial to get past a certain point in a mission. the story is basically the same thing as the movie with some "behind the scenes" sequences and added scenes for pure game purposes. one thing that really bugs me about any star wars game is that the lightsaber always feels so underpowered. sicne when did it take two hits from a lightsaber to destroy a battle droid? and sicne when did super battle droids block lightsaber strikes? the game never really got that reptitive for me but sometimes tedious. the boss battles are more interesting but can get as tedious. the animations are very well done and everythings pretty smooth. there are some instances where thers all this stuff going on in the background and its quite a beauty. a lil more texture work wouldnt have hurt but there are some decent lighting effects in teh enviroments. the shadows of your character was a lil strange but its passable. the droids get sliced and explode satisfyingly and is more good than bad. there are also plenty of scenes from the movie itself but tehy have been compressed so badly its really surprising. the star wars music is there, effects of lightsaber and blasters sound good. and the VO's aren't bad at all, but anakins character sounds bored all the time. everyone else is very good. honestly i would not buy this game unless it was 15 bux. true they did all they can to extend the life of the game to make it longer than the movie but its still short as it clocks in as a 6-8 hour adventure. there are some bonus and co-op missions that you can unlock but those just seem half assed and not that much fun. you know i had a blast with this game and i recommend not to purchase this until the price goes down to around 15 dollars. this is one of those rentals that are definitely worth your money.
