Star Wars Episode I: Racer User Review
Although Star Wars games have always been huge letdowns, Star Wars Racer isn't one of those, it can remember F-Zero, because both are real fast and happen in the future, but after playing it for a while you will notice that this game has a lot more of thrill.
The graphics aren't awesome, maybe the game's pace is so fast that Nintendo 64 hardware couldn't stand such high speed with more beautiful graphics.
The sound isn't really good, but the characters' voices are great, every time you pass through your friend you just need to press the R button for your character start swearing at them.
There are 25 tracks, including the movie track, that will take place in 8 different planets with completely different environment. You will start with about 8 Pod Racers and as you win races you get the Track's Favorite that will be your rival during that race. After finishing in the top 4 you will get a money prize so that you can upgrade your Pod.
The tracks are magnificent, there are some that will take you more than 5 minutes ti finish a 3-lap-race, so during a race you can find a whole bunch of different scenarios, there is a track where you will start in a city, go to a desert, to a forest, to a swamp, to the mountains and then go back to the city. In other tracks there are volcanoes, canyons, mines, and even tunnels without gravity.
So, Star Wars racer is quite a good racing game, it has some problems concerning its gameplay that is hard for you to adapt, but after a while you will be thrilled by this game's marvelous races.
