Better than the entire first Star Wars!

User Rating: 8.1 | Star Wars Episode I: Racer N64
I know that is a cheap joke, but hey, whatever. Episode I Racer takes one of the more annoying parts of the first movie in the series and makes it fun. There are many locations to try, different characters to play as, and fun commentary while you try to take first in the circuit.

The graphics on this are phenomenal. They really did a fantastic job at spacing the environments and sculpting the characters. The controls are easy enough to learn, but don't leave you with much variety between the different racers. You can switch from Anakin's to Seb's and see little difference in the handling, except that the speed or acceleration will change a little.

On the other hand, the sound is there but not. Some of the music gets on your nerves and the sounds are repetitive, but they are necessary to painting the picture.

This is a different type of racing game, but is similar to Wipeout and F-Zero in style and control. The nice part is that they do a great job getting you into the SW Universe and try to keep your attention. While some things could have been improved, you will find a lot of racing to keep you occupied for quite a few hours.
