An unjustly underrated game! A great starwars story awaits those who play it!

User Rating: 8.8 | Star Wars: Bounty Hunter PS2
I bought this game on the cheap, in August 2003, when its price had more than halved from its release-date price in December 2002. I was not disappointed with this game & I would have happily bought the game for its release-date price! It is definitely in my top 10 list of favourite PS2 games! First off the story is great, dare I say epic in its own right, as it is set between the Star Wars Episodes 1 & 2 & it tells the tale of how the clone army became modelled on Jango Fett. I must confess, I love the Star Wars mythology & that is why this story struck such a chord with me!

The action is unrelenting and fast-paced! Although it can be punishingly difficult in places, especially if the enemies get the drop on you first! Plus, having only six tries at a level, before having to start it all over again can also be frustrating, but with a little perserverance this can be overcome! Also, there is a wide range of weaponry in Jango's arsenal. These consist of the dual-wielding blasters at the start, moving up to the wrist-mounted dart gun & flamethrower, & the mighty jet-pack based rocket launcher! The weapons all have their niche in the game, meaning they can take down tough enemies very quickly, if the right weapon is used for the right enemy. Example: the dart gun for the horse-sized, cat-like Nexu on Malastare & the flamethrower for the relentless hordes of Bando Gora on Kohlma. The graphics are okay for its time (2002) & the camera angle is a bit dodgy at times, especially in confined spaces, but for the most part it's good.

The real gripe I had about the gameplay was the targetting of the bounties, as while doing this you are unable to use your weapons! This can be very frustrating at times, especially when you have a dozen enemies, including your bounty, raining laser fire down on you! Those minor gripes aside, I completed the game twice, in the first six monthes since i bought it & I'm very tempted to do it all over again! When all's said & done I give it 9/10! It's a classic!
