A huge improvement, altough still full of glitches and idiots.

The first Star Wars Battlefront wasn't all that impressive to me. It was okay, not all that great. This game changes a lot of things from the first, making both welcome changes and really dumb mistakes.

When you start up the game, one of the better Star Wars songs will play, and then you pick what to do. For someone who hasn't played yet, try the really boring tutorial. When your done skipping the tutorial, you'll probably try the story mode. The story mode isn't really that much of a great story. I mean, sure, it's a little interesting, but not really all that wonderful. The levels are fun, though. It should prove to be sort of a warm up to the rest of the game. So you beat the story mode? Oh. Guess what you get for beating it! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. A huge let down. I figured maybe I'd get some new levels or a bonus movie or somthing cool. But no.

The online play is a lot of fun. It's maybe the best part of the game. Ok, definatly the best part of the game. There are Space Battles and stuff, which are really fun. Yeah. Capture the flag, Team deathmatch, standard stuff. Also, you can play as Jedi. They control sort of like Dynasty Warriors, only not as good.

Now for the bad stuff.

1.The Jedi are really cheap. If you get hit with the light saber, you get knocked down, and it takes sooooo long to get back up. If they touch you, they pretty much already won, even if your a jedi too.

2. The force powers are even more cheap, especially when your playing a hero. Force push and pull are really annoying, as they have the same effect of the light saber, when your hit by it, you can't get up. The force choke is equally annoying. Strangly, the force push can be blocked, but the choke can't, so it's hard not to die when your on the good side.

3. The A.I. is moronic. They can almost never kill you, and if your a hero...pfft...fuggedabout it.

4. The good side gets the worse heroes. Boba Fett can kill Han Solo easily, especially because Boba's got a jetpack. And really...there is a level where it's Darth Vader vs. Leia. I know it's authentic to the movies, but still, it's just too unbalanced.

5. There are numerous sound glitches, especially on Mos Eisly. Theres this really annoying sound that keeps playing for no reason. The good music sort of counters these, tough.

In short, it's great if you have low expectations. If you expect an incredible movie like experience...well...then maybe rent it.
