stuck in gorn memories (possible spoilers)

Hi, I need some help. I'm playing the PC version of the game, and playing as Spock. After defeating the Gorn Lieutenant on the Enterprise, Spock wants to access his (it's?) memories. I'm in the memories, and Spock keeps saying "keep searching". I'm not sure what to do. I looked up a youtube walkthrough it and it seemed to automatically progress after a few seconds. I've left this alone for a couple minutes, moved my point of view 360 degrees, tried lining up the light with the end of the tunnel. I have no idea how to get past this. Can someone help me? Thank you.
