The AI in this game simply makes their decisions based on what you do. I mean this literally, that it cheats by reacting to your openning move, giving the computer an unfair advantage. This was the most annoying game I ever wasted my money on. Hence why 11 years later I feel the need to write a review for this game. The game would be interesting game of diplomacy and exploration. If the computer AI did not make it choices after seeing which options you choose. This can be seen most clearly when in space battle. If you encounter weaker ship they will stay if you go on the defensive and take pot shots at you. However, in the same scenario you attack first they will run away 100% of the time. The game does offer a intresting view into the star trek universe and gives sevral factions with unique ways of game play, such as the feregi a commerece oriented species or the romulans who use sabatoage.
