    I think everyone should rememeber a game is based overall, not just for "OMG GRAPHICS", i would gladly sacrific graphics quality for good, even great gameplay, as well as story to back that gameplay up. ultimatly we must all relise that near to all great games have a brilliant storyline and gameplay. for example Zelda: ocarina of time besides the fact most modern day gamers would shun it saying "OH OH Modern Warfare 2 IS BETTER!" ocarina of time had 2 great things about it great gamplay and great storyline, please remember this when judging a game which has not even been released yet

    i was thinking of pre ordering this to tide me over till TOR but now all hope of that is gone even though this is Beta footage it reminds me to much of Fallen Earth how there Beta and main release was hardly different so much for this game to hold me over

    From what ive seen the result of a battle is determined by your equipment and not your skill

    Sadly, I would probably pay for it as is - despite the unpolished graphics, the gameplay could still be good. It looks like it still needs a lot of work though.

    this game footage is in beta, meaning the last product I hope will be better, at the end the real star trek fans don't give a F about graphics as long as you can be inside the ST universe. Most of the ppl commenting here may not be hardcore ST fans , just kids used to play console games. I started playing videogames when it was just one dot and 2 bars in a black screen so this is awesome to me.

    wrong!!!!!, from experience I learned that the most importatnt aspect of a game is the gameplay degree, sound and graphics are cool but not all. I rather play a mediocre game but wihout bugs and great inmmersion. This game looks great since is online, your rig will have to deal with all those multiple battles going on with lots of torpedoes, explosions, and phasers.

    Looks like they tried to put too much in a great game and it came out mediocre.

    Hmmm, doesn't look particulary good. Had such high hopes for this game...maybe they were a little too high.

    lazareth1: Look at the screen shots to get a better idea of the actual look of the graphics. This video is very poor.

    samstherealhero: Last gen graphics? Copying a DS game? I want some of what you smoke bro. --Why are there so many crazy disassociated remarks about Star Trek online I wonder?

    @techdrone

    If no one cares about graphics, why is everyone posting comments about it? All I'm saying is they could get the best of both worlds by simply adding in the facility to change the graphic settings in their game like others do. MMO Devs always use this as an excuse. They can do it, but never do. It's their loss in sales, because no one will even try it due to the graphics. Again I point you to the comments on this board.

    wow............. last gen grafcs and its mmo and on top of that they are copying a ds game this thing screams fail i mean realy if they were going to make it mmo they should not make it story based

    @lazareth1
    No one wants to play games that look outdated? Really? Look at Star Trek: Bridge Commander which was released back in 2002 that many people are still playing and modding like mad today -- http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/ . Or perhaps World of Warcraft? A whole heck of a lot of clearly seen polygons there, but obviously, it's one of the most played games out there. There are many more famous yet still popularly played games that I could list. But hopefully, you get my point. Besides, in many cases (Final Fantasy VII/Baldur's Gate 2), the graphics aren't what matter, it's the story and the gameplay -- The fun element if you will -- that matters. And from what I've seen so far, both of these things seem to be in ample quantity and of excellent quality in Star Trek Online.
