- "Almost, but not quite"
ok so every startrek nerd, and his brother wants to fly a starship in space. For me that part is what is keeping me play the game more than anything in the game. For this game it seems to be solidly built as far as the very basic premise of flying a starship.
Beyond that there is just not much to this game, combat is like others say either brain numbingly easy or impossible(Insta death). There is no edge to make it fun, granted this seems to operate a lot like Starfleet command 3. However, that game had something extra to make the combat really enjoyable.
Content seems to be another problem, I see a lot of the missions follow the same formula. Fight some ships in space, beam down, and fight them down on the ground. Granted, I am a space combat forever, diplomacy never type. So I still like the space battles, and don't really care for missions that don't involve space or ground combat.
Also there are several bugs that they have not yet addressed. I found several times when the game would outright crash and then want to spend 15 minutes scanning the files for corruption. This was rare, but it was noticeable.
All in all, not a bad game from my perspective. Just missing the really good polish of other games.

Star Trek Online is just an average MMO and somewhat clumsily made.
