Fun to play. Not nearly as repetitive as other MMOs. No PVP ganking.

Jumped in, and am having fun. Not groundbreaking in any way, but it is a good MMO without all the BS that a lot of other MMOs have.

Good:
* Sound is great.
* Graphics are very impressive.
* Customizablity of both characters and ships, this should be standard in all MMOs, but for some reason is lacking in many.
* Not nearly as repititive as a lot of other MMOs. You will do some missions that resemble others, but not to the point of aggravation.
* Well set up PVP arenas without the gank-fests that bring down other MMOs. Thank goodness you can play with friends against the computer without being ganked by hardcore PVPers whose only fun in life is attacking those of lower rank than thiers.

Bad:
*A lot of technical Star Trek devices that non-fans Star Trek won't understand (me). Such as what is the difference between photon torpedos and quantum torpedos? What are the consequences of choosing one over the other? You just have to use trial and error.
* A few bugs causing crashing, getting stuck in missions, or not recognizing when to level up characters. Sometimes the GMs are timely in helping you. Sometimes you wait for up to an hour without a response and log off.

Overall, a fun time for casual MMO players. Not for hardcore PVPers.
