- Easy
- Time Spent:
- 10 to 20 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Worth playing"
No, it's not advanced and yes, I am 34 years of age and LOVE playing a good strategic turn based game, that sucks you straight into it's game play.
As you read in the intro, then I have some summers behind me, and that gives me the (dis)advantage to have knowledge of what went on during the early years of gaming.
This game reminded me surely of the Supremacy game to the Amiga, Amstrad and PC. Graphic-, gameplay- and sound- wise.
You start out as one of known races of the Star Trek franchise. Each race has it's advantages and it's disadvantages. Every race also has one home planet which is the only one that can create fleets. There can max be 3 fleets at work at all time and each fleet can only occupy one system at a time.
You have to produce and make research. The systems resources is used for this and the more resources the planet has the more it's produces material or science.
The battle goes on between the races and you have 3 options to do these battles. Instant - where you have no say as commander. Sim - where you can be neutral, defensive, offensive or simply retriet. Finally you can have it 3D - where you take part in battle as the captain of one of the star ships.
There are more details like secret wepons and star systems with already installed equipment.
If these things turn you on, this game is something for you.
The game has as plus':
Great play - instant great fun. Both playing alone and with friends.
Turn based - no stress !!!
Good music - well placed and harmonic with game play.
Able to finish - yes, this is one of these games, where you'd actually will be able to feel good after playing, cause you are able to finish a game with in about 1.5 hour ! True Wii intentions.
Gameplay catching - one you start, it's difficult to stop (but not impossible)
The game lacks:
Multi player - could really have been fantastic to battle friends.
Online - if you are one of them who's into that.
Better graphics - it's cosy, but not nice or impressive.
More game - could have been fun to make a ground landing. More installations like terraforming, colonizing and more.

The omission of any thing resembling a story makes this game a total flop.
