Not a bad re-make of Star Ocean: Second Story.

I just beat this game a few hours ago, and I thought that this was very good. Not a bad re-make of Star Ocean: Second Story. The story in this game takes place 20 years after the events of Star Ocean: First Departure. You start of as Claude, or Rena depnding on whose story you choose, and follow the events that lead up to saving two worlds from the Ten Wise Men. I liked the story in this game, although the story has a few rough spots. The characters are awesome. My favorite was Claude. His voice is much different compared to Second Story. In Second Story, Claude sounded like a grown up. In this game however, he sounds more shy and kiddish. That's okay, I still like Claude no matter what he is :). You can choose from a variety of characters depending on what actions you do. You can have a max capacity of 8 characters in your party. You can only use 4 at a time in battle. My best party was: Claude, Rena, Celine and Opera. The Free-Roaming Real-Time battle system is used in this game, You basically control a character, and the others are computer controlled. You can choose their actions via strategy, or commands. Nothing really is differnet in this game, except some of the items and places have differnet names. While this game has its ups, it has its downs. Pretty much the same issues from First Departure are in this game as well. I shall list all of them.
-High amount of backtracking
-Constant Power-Levelling
-Voice Acting is good initially, but gets really boring overtime
- The music can be dull in some points.
-Last, the game can be very easy in some points
Anyways, I really recommend this game to any RPG fan. Overall, great re-make of a PS1 classic, memorable characters, addictive gameplay, and good music. If you own a PSP, give this gamea try and I will assure you that you will enjoy this game.
