Star Ocean Second Evolutions is great game, an underappreciated gem, must buy for RPG fans

Star Ocean Second Evolution is the Sequel to the Star Ocean and is also a Remake of the one that was on the playstation 11 years ago. While I never played the Original, I can safely say that both games are amazing. Once again it is a Real-Time Battle system we are used to seeing, in the Star Ocean games. While Star Ocean The Second Story is not a sequel to the first it does mention the events that happen in The first game and takes place approximately 20 years later (it also does not require you to play the first game to understand the second one). People who have played Star Ocean First Departure or the original Star Ocean (released in Japan only, thanks to the PSP Remake America was able to see this lost treasure.) game will instantly at the beginning of the game recognize a character from the first one. Ronyx J. Kenny to be exact. You take the role of his son Claude C. Kenny (or Rena Landford, Explain later in Review) as you are mysteriously, sent to an underdeveloped planet named Expel. Where you meet up with a young girl, Afterwards the villagers mistaken Claude for The Hero of Light and call his weapon the Sword of Light but he has no clue what they are talking about so as he tries to get information on how he can get back home they set out on a journey, he eventually gets sucked into saving Expel from an object called the Sorcery Globe. While reading this the story make seem a little outdated and clichéd but its not, as if I were to tell you any more I would ruin it for you. Also like the other Star Ocean games you recruit characters and are required to play the game through multiple times to get a chance to have them in your party. Another think that Star Ocean Second Evolution does is give you the choice at the beginning of the game to pick between two leads. You get the chance to play as Rena and depending on the main lead you choose determines the characters you can get in your party and changes the story alittle depending on who you play as. While the Graphic are not great as you venture forth through this masterpiece it will not phase you at what they look like. The gameplay is amazing and it has a great story. Honest truth I see no problem with the voice acting in this game but that's not something that bothers me about a game either. The game also has Anime cutscence in it as well, truly a masterpiece and an underappreciated gem. If I had to make a complaint about it the game at one point it will glitch and take some time to fix it, but it only happens after you get the Psynard, however it is not something you should stop playing the game. Thank you Tri-Ace for making the game and Thank you Square Enix for allowing fans and newcomers alike to be able to get a chance to play this and First Departure. 10/10
