I've never played a Star Ocean game either, but I definitely want this! :)

This game looks as though its either deceptively good, or catastrophically awful. However as to which it is I can't quite say, I don't think it'll come close to previous titles of Star Ocean though.

This looks pretty good, I was disappointed that Edge gave it such a poor review. The item creation girl does sound really annoying, exactly like Angelica from Rugrats actually :lol:

looks good and similar to Rogue Galaxy (ps2) rogue galaxy was a great rpg, let's see of this. It's quite annoying to see console exclusive titles. this one is just for xbox360.

OK. PS3 XBOX 360 and what about PS2, yes PS2. The best console. Wy? Becouse it as a lot of RPG. Ya XBOX is better them PS3 because it as better games. But for me that live were there is no support for dead ring, I gad stick with PS2 I´m waiting for PS3 it´s a Bebe yet.

Well... I think PS3 did have a choice.... they could very well spend a lot less money in staying with the DVD format one generation more and develop a less expensive processor (the processor powering the xbox is actually a less powerful version of the cell... same developer, same parts) and fight the console war based on game and units sold..... xbox and nintendo already have proven that this was the most profitable option..... the wii is the less advanced console... its basicly 4 nintendo cubes and ducktape...... and its winning the war by FAR... .lets just hope that sony find a miracle for saving the PS3 financial situation that in its actual state could very well prevent it to fully develop its potential..... yet... even if this happens and we start seeing incredibly superior graphics in the PS3... its not very likely that they will catch up with the xbox on the game library issue.... by the way..... what too many bugs??.... on xbox live?? besides the ring of death (which is attended by microsoft very quickly) I dont remember any bugs or problems.... specially not in its network... ive been an xbox live gold member since 2006 and i have never ever experienced any sort of problem.... its really a great service.... So... I sincerly hope PS3 does achieve its goals..... It would set a high bar for standards for next gen consoles.... but still... great graphics wont save it from being the console with the fewest games and exclusives... they have to do something BIG about sales or game developers will continue to see the PS3 as the less attractive option.... hardest to work on and less profitable? not a good combination So well lets hope... im a gamer and think this fierce competition is the best thing that has happened to this industry.... i dont have anything against the PS3... i just preferded the xbox

angelc84 i agree with you almost all the way. but, as far as the ps3 being ahead of it's time, it had absolutely no choice. the ps2 was getting to old, and they needed the best of the consoles to stand a chance. but that 1 year difference ment the world to the conflict. but the only other problem i have with the 360 is it is overpowered and it has so many bugs and problems with the network and so on. i think, if the ps3 made their network monthly payed, it'd have more people on the network. why? because that's how the world goes round. you get what you pay for and if you pay for it you like it. if you pay for it it seems makeshift. and the thing that's gonna hit the xboy is that it's gonna have nearly a 5 or more difference and that is overkill. but then your fanboys are gonna come along and sony will start competing and literally slaughter the xboy no matter how good of graphics it has. and that's where nintendo gets mad with all it's hard work and hard efforts. it's always came out with the first, yet it's never become overpowering over the other systems. and even when there the only corporation that makes games and consoles it has all the luck in competing with SONY and Microsoft. so angelc84, i agree with you all the way. Ok.. first my source is an article of the New York Times and i was talking world wide..... Wii won the year with 34 Million or so... Xbox sold 26 million or so and the PS3 sold 16 million or so.... im talking about consoles here... u can go to the new york times site and check this out...... if u cant find it just google "console wars 2008" youll find it. Now ive never meant to sound like a fanboy.... YES no one denies that in hardware the PS3 has more potential than the 360 because of blu ray and because of the cell processor... yes it has more usbs yes the controler axis is pretty cool and yes the all mighty network is free....... its far more advanced everone who know a little about the issue know this.... thats not a discussion..... nevertheless.... this does not make it the best console per se.... and here is where sales are important..... sales tell us that in 2008 there were 10 million people that prefered 360 than ps3.... and why?? i agree here with you again.... whats killing the PS3 is its timing..... I see the PS3 like the sega genesis of this generation.... what happened to that console.... it was the first introducing cd based games... it was the first supporting 32 bit games.... it was too focused on hardware... and while there were good and great games..... nintendo just had more and better games.... and thats it.....and this is what is happening now...... at least is one of the reasons..... now... your right again... nobody is an expert yet in making blu ray based games..... but what u maybe dont know is that microsoft actually spends a lot of money in providing game developers with the tools and support necesary for making the games work correctly on the 360 platform.... sony cant do this because its console is already the most expensive in the market.... and finally..... PS3 network its free yei!... but its nowhere near Xbox Live.... this is another thing no one can argue.... Live is the best online service and its users, myself included, happily pay 49 bucks a year and we happily buy and spend microsoft points.... why? because its just that good. Its worth it I think PS3 could have been a great console and bad desicions and bad timing will prevent it to live up to its potential.... you can check NY Times on this too... the PS3 was a financial failure... its just losing this generation big time..... which is a shame... i think PS3 is actually a next-gen console.... but i mean NEXT GEN... the one that will begin in 2012 or so.... blu ray is great but the dvd still controls the market... it hasnt gone.... CELL processor was way too expensive and after 2 years it hasnt fully seized its potential.... and being the last place on sales game developers just see it less and less of an option for exclusives..... I have an Xbox... for ME is the best console of this generation because of its game library and its online service.... its lso a great multimedia console... I stream my movies, pictures and music wirelessly to the console and wacth/hear them on my TV and the 3 red lights happend once.... i called... they came to my house for my console... i didnt pay one cent and within the week i received a new console and ive had it since 2007 without problems....... PS3 is a great console with the greatest potential of all 3 consoles..... but i think its timing was all wrong and the marketing strategy has been a disaster (strategy.. not campaign).... i also think it came ahead of its time..... and that among other reasons is why almost 25 million people prefered one of the other 2 consoles last year... thats why xbox has more games and more exclusives.... and it may well be the reasons why the new game of star ocean is now an xbox exclusive

batman17 the cpu's are nearly 20 cells apart. it's the ps3's 51 to the 360's 33. if you think that's the same then there's a problem. and for angelc84, i do take back what i said about game makers being lazy, it's much harder to make a game on the ps3 than the 360, so their actually already working more than what they do for ps3 games than on 360 games just to make the graphics nearly the same. and yes i do understand what it takes to make a game. but when it's your job it's whats expected. especially when there's nearly 100 people that are given nearly 3 years or more to make a game. but that only makes it easier by a little bit once you've considered how hard it is to make everyone work together and agree with each other. and the #1 reason xbox360's sold 10,000,000 more copies (which i'd like to know your source about because i believe that's only in the U.S.A., and if that) than your smiting down the ps3 even more than it already does when it's pottential is more than that of the 360's I'd bet my life that if the ps3 came out a year before the 360 it would have blown all of microsoft out of the water, and the point that i'm trying to make would have been clear to all of the world of gaming without question. but since everybody already has the 360, more and more people buy it. i believe that the amount of sales shouldn't measure a systems potential. do any of you agree with me? but, overall the only thing unbiased about the ps3 being better than the 360 is the graphics are (AND DO NOT OBJECT THIS!!!) better and the playstation network is free. everything else is biased such as game selection and gameplay. and again, i apoligize for using the word "lazy". game makers have to push past their limits to make games, but they SHOULD use it's full potential and prove itself better.

well i think those comments on the game developers being lazy are insulting. Is because of them that this industry has become what it is... Microsoft, sony and nintendo only provided a platform... game developers are responsable for all the great things we have seen these past 2 generations of consoles... do any of you have the slightest idea of what does it takes to make a good game? Game developers are not lazy.... for game developing is also a business.... and if im making an exclusive game i have 3 options. If i decide that im targeting hardcore gamers that rules the wii out....... on which console will I sell more copies of my game?.... ohh... the one that has more consoles placed on market.... and when i see that in december 2008... 2 months before i release my game it turns out that the xbox360 sold 10 million more consoles than ps3.... then i know i made the right choice

I love fan boys, because you are all so blind. It was already proven that both systems cpu's are not that far apart in fact, they are almost the same. I got both systems and i enjoy both of them. The only thing that i wish the playstation3 would have is a better netwok. The only thing the ps3 processor has over the xbo360 is that it puts most of its power in to the blueray player. ayhokkuu, you sound more like a fan boy did u know that both processors were built by the same guy. So no matter how u put it both systems will always be equal in graphics, except for exclusives, get your facts rigth.

i think you are the fanboy... TECHNICALLY the ps3 DOES have better graphics. But systems only but set a limit for the graphics. it's the games and the game makers that decide the graphics. In other words, the game makers decide that they will make the 360 shine and put the ps3 out of it's proper place. I personally don't like either of the systems, the 360 has worse gameplay and the ps3 has worse online and the Wii has the worst game selection and graphics between the three. But matt2kvx was right when he said that ps3 games are harder to make, that's another reason they both seem to have the best graphics because the game makers are to lazy to actually do more work than they already have too. But i also agree with card01 when he sais that "you fanboys of both consoles look so stupid in these round trip arguments". Technically, the graphics for this game on the ps3 would most likely be the same, but it COULD have been better (if of course the game makers where kind enough) and that's why i would like to see it happen. I'd also like to see some of you 360 fan boys in a year or two and see the comparison between 360 graphics and ps3 graphics. You have to remember, the 360 got a good year head start and just reached it's full limit game with Banjo Kazooie N&B. Imagine a year from now with FF XIII coming out and that will surely blow this game out of the water for $#@! sure along with the 360 itself with all it's fan boys at its side. Well, I take that back. Maby FF won't, but i'll tell you the truth right here... your gonna see that one game will. Hell, MGS4 sure blew Halo 3 away, pride and honor aside, in all the catagories too... graphics, gameplay, online gameplay, storyline. I'm sure they're thinking up a storm on their next game overseas. Once it all comes down to it, MOST of the time the Japanese have out beaten the USA in just about anything technical. Don't expect the American pride to keep the 360 floating.

matt2kvx, the PS3 will never blow xbox360 out of the water. The Cell processor is just to much for gaming and especially for a gaming console. We will be onto a new generation of consoles before the cell would ever be put to the test. As for graphics it mainly comes down to developers and years later nothing has changed. Do some of you honestly believe if this were on the PS3 it would look better? That absurd. You fan boys of both consoles look so stupid in these round trip arguments.

The only bad thing about this game is having to dream about how much better it would have looked if it was developed on PS3. Even with that said, I already pre-ordered it.

I think you are trying to say that xbox has better graphics than ps3 but I'm not sure because you use no punctuation and your sentances are all messed up "also who had more games thats mean power of xbox360" what does that mean? So, the reason Xbox is getting game makers to go with them is because it is easier to make games for the system due to its proccessor and high-def dvd format. PS3 games are harder to make because of the cell processors and the blu-ray format. Once the game makers catchup to PS3, the games will blow 360 games out of the water from a technical standpoint.

looks good, im not really a fan of scifi rpgs, i prefer more fantasy or mideval style. I did play Starocean: Till the End of Time for PS2 and I really hated the battle system. You die if u run out of MP. not just HP, but MP too. that was retarded. but i have high hopes for this new one

They should have done a PS3 version as well. The other reason I think they did not do a PS3 version is their just too damn lazy to make a PS3 version.

I'm not usually a big fan of JRPGs. But having a sci fi setting helps. Phantasy Star and Xenosaga are about the only ones I liked. The combat system seems ok and the graphics are nice. But I don't get how magnetic powered Rail guns can't harm the creatures, but a sword weilded by a human can. It doesn't matter anyways because all of my gaming money for this month went to the limited addition of Halo Wars.

I'm impressed. The story kind of reflects a bit of my imagination. I'm surprised someone thought of it & went ahead & made it. I'm hoping to get my hands on this. Also, the white alien dude that steps out of the starship looks & sounds like a wuss lol.

Boring art direction, old battle mechanic.... yep, it's a JRPG alright.
