64 is better, but this is still great!

Star Fox 64 was, and still is, one of my all time favorite games. Star Fox Adventures came out, and it was good, but it just wasn't Star Fox. It was Zelda, not Fox. Good game, tough. When I heard this game was goin' back to basics, I was excited. Sadly, the on-foot missions aren't nearly as good as the space ones.

The on-foot missions aren't very appealing when you first start, but they get better as you go on. The on-foot missions allow you to go into arwings and landmasters whenever you want. The Landmaster handles like the characters, but slower and it hovers. The Arwing handles like a dream, with only a few changes. The changes are very easy to get used to, so it doesn't really affect the gameplay.

The graphics are very good, with really no bad textures, and lots of original chracter design, but that doesn't change the fact that the graphics don't have that...flair. When playing Adventures, there the fur that moved and all of those effects. While there's nothing wrong with the graphics, there's nothing special about them either.

The sound is spectacular. The new voices are all excellent, altough I prefer the Adventure voices. The remixes of all the classic Star Fox songs are AWESOME. Really good stuff.

The time it takes to complete isn't really long at all, but neither was 64. Once again, the game requires you to go back and play it again. Altough this time it's not about a better ending, it's about medals. When you collect the medals, you get the Xevious. That's right, the arcade classic in the flesh! (sorta)

Hopefully the next Star Fox game will be more Arwing than anything, as that's what steals the show.
