@waZelda why? starfox has never been about flying where ever you want and when its tried to be anything else other than a great on the rails shooter it all goes wrong.
Man Gamespot is trolling. Along with the OOT I feel both that and Star Fox 64 3D should have gotten a 9.0 because they are both Timeless Classics and games that never show their age. Just being on the 3DS alone is awesome.
see, nintendo keeps doing these remakes over and over and over... and they sell! I just wish Square-enix did the same for games like chrono trigger/cross and... FINAL FANTASY 7 GIVE ME PLZ
still waiting for some games for this, those 20 20 year old and 10 year old games dont really make up for the 100 quid dropped in a few months at all. How about some n64 games for free??
So he doesn't say much bad besides "it's not very long" and the complain about star wolf but, it gets a 7.5? Also, he reviews this game like everyone and their mother's brother's dad's cousin's dog hasn't played it before.
There is something about a 7.5 that doesn't look worth the purchase. Its that .5 that does it in. I'll likely still pick this up. I always read/watch a few reviews. This review was super well done. I approve Gamespot... I approve P.S. - the "She's still got it where it counts" line I believe was a tip of the hat to Han Solo referring to the Millennium Falcon. Love it!
@SlinkMacTavish You do realize that the game is exactly the same except for the visuals right?
Great review but next time the review should be shorter for those with small attention spans. I mean a five minute review? Next you'll expect me to read books too haha!! Also using really tiny words is also helpful. There's nothing worse than expanding your vocabulary. And a segment about french fried potaters should set the mood off just right.
I can't wait to do a barrel roll in 3D while eating my french fried potaters!
My little bro played Starfox back in the day, and it seemed cool. But but I'll take Rogue Leader over this any day.
I agree with alot of the comments about the choice of words. Keep it simple and dont sound like your reading from a paper. The game looks good. Sadly, I dont own a 3DS yet and not sure if Im gunna get one. The library still looks stale to me...
Oh, good, they gave it a much more intelligent score than IGN did. 9.0 for a remake of an old game with no new content, my butt.
I've never heard so many people get so mad about a person being too intelligent for them. it's not like he was being pretentious or anything. I thought it was a really well thought out review. Basically: great game reworked really well for 3d with better graphics, but didn't get a 9 or a ten because of no online. What's so hard to understand about that. Stop being contrarians. Elitists give nerds a bad name.
The reviewer is a woman. But I don't really care for her style of reviewing. The old guard knew it well, but somewhere along the like everyone at gamespot (possibly except Kevin) forgot it. There is no reason for her review to have all that ridiculous enunciation. Talk like you're having a conversation. See: GameTrailers, for how that stuff should be done.
He didn't know you could turn around, and he forgot about the multiplayer. Two massive slips in the review. Other than that it was alright, I think it should have gotten an 8.0.
Only under an hour? What the eff man...Nintendo once again putting out a half arsed remake once again to make money. I'm getting so sick of nintendo's laziness these days...

why are you guys complaining about the 7.5 being too low it got it is a higher score than what the game should have gotten
He needs to put down his thesaurus and concentrate on actually reviewing the game. Just because you know big words doesn't mean you need to use them every three words!
This guy sounds like he's 10 years old. He obviously has no idea that this is labeled "64", yet he thinks they should've made a completely new game.
The star wolf enemies fly up? IT'S A MOVE THAT YOU CAN USE TOO! There are so many examples like that that make this is one of the most idiotic reviews I've ever seen....and I've been to IGN.
Dear Reviewer, Not to sound rude, but did you even play Star Fox 64? You voice complaints about the limited movement, but were you aware that Star Fox is, at its heart, an on-rails shooter? It should be a rule that a reviewer is not allowed to officially review (personal opinions are ok) a remake of an old game unless they have played the original.
We really need a new Starfox game. One with a new plot and everything. Not simply a remake. I love Starfox 64, but I want something new.
I noticed that I can't go into cockpit view like I could on the 64 version. I never used that view, but I still wish I had the option. That 15 minute break message is a little annoying too. but I DO love this game.
"There is still an inviting geometric simplicity to these environments that makes this universe a believable home for the cartoonish anthropromorphic animals who inhabit it." I become really annoyed with reviewers when they seem to describe relatively simple things in a needlessly complex tone. I mean I can't think of the last time I was playing a game and thought, "Hmmmm, I'm iffy about the geometric complexity of the vessel my anthropromorphic fox resides in." Carolyn, I think you're one of the best reviewers on the site, but I feel you may need to spend some time pondering who your audience is.
