Spyro the Dragon
Arguably the best game in the whole package, Spyro the Dragon introduces the dragon and his oddly strange world. STD is just like any other 3-D platformer-slash-adventure at the time: you fight baddies, collect treasure, and travel through wonderful worlds as you set on a quest to free your dragon buddies from crystal. The worlds are my favorite memory from this game and they always seem magical everytime I play this game. Truly a unique masterpiece.
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!
In this game, Spyro sets off to Avatar to take a vacation- only to be set off to defeat the games title enemy, Ripto, and find all 100 of the Avatar's energy orbs. Ripto's Rage! features new characters, new worlds, and vioce acting for Spyro, which sounds much better than his original vioce acting. It plays pretty much like the first, only with the new mission system to conquer tasks to win orbs to procede. The tasks are really tricky, and sometimes ask for trial-and-error results constantly. This game is still worth playing though even if it can be really challenging at times.
Spyro: Year of the Dragon
With new playable characters, fairer task missions, and being the longest game in the whole package, Year of the Dragon is certainly a Spyro fan's dream. Traveling to the forgotten worlds to save his families eggs (stop laughing), Spyro is ounce again on a wild journey. As I mentioned before, Spyro has a little help this time around. Being able to play as Shiela the Kangaroo, Sgt.(what's his name) the pengiun with rocket launchers, or Bently the Yeti brings a lot of variety to this Spyro adventure. This is one Spyro game you'll be playing for a long time.
Well, it's been a great time with you Spyro. Hopefully some day a big name game company will see your pain and make a new, original adventure for you- who know's? And maybe you'll actually get a vacation.
