    If this game is anything like the Space Prototype game that they have on the website, it will be so addicting you won't care what it looks like *Goes off to colonize a few more systems*

    Just wait until Lucas gets ahold of the game, probably get a whole new sci fi franchise from him

    Sorry but the first thing I will KILL in the game wont be a creature, it will be the music. After about 3 hours of play you start to hear Sim music in your sleep.

    I see alot of people here saying its just like LOTR / C&C etc.

    "Part" of the game is, yes. its basically being 8 games (C&C/RTS Genre is one of them) thats why its so big.

    Theres the Cell phase.. which is just you as a cell, eating other cells etc growing avoiding big nasty cells (pacman monent )

    eventually you evolve as to grow legs, walk up on land, eat some stuff kill some stuff, explore, hopefully not get killed by a bigger monster, then find a mate.

    now theres 2 of you, bred, now theres 3.. 4...5..6... send out your pack of 6 units, make friends with others or hit them with your stick.

    Learn to build a hut, built 2 huts, 3.. build a weapons stand & fill it with spears, kick some booty in RTS styled fashion (or make love not war).

    Eventually end up with a city which your running, keeping people happy & keep expanding, making tanks/airplanes from your military buildings etc. defend yourself, attack. (RTS/Sim City style)

    Eventually become big enough to build a space ship, explore other planets, make friends destroy or populate new planets, teraform them to your needs, collect resources to keep the whole thing going & upgrading your civlisation/ships/buildings.

    Every step of which is fully customisable so you can have cubed buildings or round buildings blablabla, same for the tanks/airplanes & general population.

    Basically this is 8 games in 1 case & a stupidly big amount of customisation.

    My honest and educated opinion is that this is actually a step backwards rather than forwards with what Maxis has been doing via Sim's series. I have been playing Maxis's games since Sim City (the first one). Over the years they have accomplished much in terms of technical ability. I am not impressed by Spore however, though it looks like a possible entertaining RTS aimed at children and some adults.

    This is the first game that let's you custom create all units, structures, vehicles, etc. for your faction. The fact that it's actually educational might be making most of you skeptics, but I'm positive Spore will be an awesome game.

    Oh wow, you guys have no idea what you're talking about. Spore is probably the most significant game of the decade.

    @dandadandan

    You're not the only skeptical one, because honestly, I too fail to see what's so "spectacular" about this game. It seems boring me...
