Had the developers actually put more time into this game, they would've known that it didn't have this horrible mess.
In Revenge of the flying dutchman, Spongebob accidently opens the bottle of the flying dutchman, and the dutchman makes him pay by taking the souls of all his friends. Now Spongebob must rescue his friends (Including Squidward, Gary, Sandy, Patrick, and Mr. Krabs), and defeat the dutchman once and for all. The games flaws prevent you from doing anything, and it doesn't even make any sense. You are supposed to catch 100 jellyfhish in Jellyfish fields, but when you catch about 86 of them, you still get a reward. To this point, it wanders us in the land of nowhere, its downright confusing.
A big problem of Revenge of the Flying Dutchman is its graphics, which should belong on the Nintendo 64 or the Sega Saturn instead of the Gamecube. If you look at it for just one second, you'll look shocked and turn off the game, playing Battle for Bikini Bottom instead. The movement of the graphics, for instance Spongebob's running, is very slow and ridiculious, making no point what-so-ever.
The sound is just very annoying. The most annoying of the sounds is when Spongebob dies, and that annoying death music comes up and breaks your ears. I've never gone as far as Chum World, and I'm glad I didn't listen to the sound.
The difficulty is so hard, it gets very annoying to just die and not see a Game over screen. You'll die 67 times, and there is no game over. Like Wario Land except worse.
The camera will just get stuck in the wall as soon as you pass an object, and the clunkyness of the controls ruins the games spirit. But that's no the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that You can't start a new file on Revenge of the flying Dutchman, and that it is very hard to save it, which was improved in Battle for Bikini Bottom. If that wasn't enough, the tips and hints in the extras are completly useless, as they already tell you when you actually play a file yourself.
Spongebob is great, but he isn't in this game. There are few stuff that are actually considered good in this game, if not any. Had the developers actually put more effort in the game, they would've known that it didn't have this horrible mess.
