Most reviews on this game are so high, but I must disagree. Perhaps many people are so desperate to give a high score to a brand new 2d plat-former. As a die hard old school gamer, I was hoping for the best. 2d platforming with simple bottom controls, with new hd graphics and old school charm. Sounds great! But ultimately I had to admit I found this game a dud. The explosion mechanic seems pretty cool at first and had potential. Yet after several hours I saw it for what it was, a glorified jump button. This is not so bad in itself, but add in the uninspired lack of level variety. They all seem pretty generic. Add in the insane difficulty and some boredom that later set in. Don't get me wrong, I had some fun at first, but the lack of level creativity and repetitive game play started to bore me. I wanted to like this game more. It's not bad, just don't believe the hype. It's over-rated.
