This game is just a great game by christian video game standards, but it is also a genuinely great game.

User Rating: 8.3 | Spiritual Warfare NES
Gameplay: The gameplay is great, and it reminds me of the original Legend of Zelda games. You run around as a little christian guy and "convert" the bad guys. You shoot, or throw rather, fruit at them. (The fruit of the spirit) As you go through the game you can get different fruits, each with their own ups and downs, from angels throughout the game with spirit points. You get spirit points from converting bad guys and answering questions from an angel that randomly appears. Since this is a christian video game all of the questions are bible questions and they are multiple choice or true and false. He will ask 5 questions. For each question you answer right you get five spirit points. If you answer all of these questions right you receive five bonus spirit points and two hearts(Health) These questions range from easy to very hard, And they get harder as the game goes on. So it is unlikely you will get all the questions right every time. However it is still relief ever time you see that chubby angel flying towards you. The one downer to the gameplay is that it can sometimes get tedious. Especially when you are converting tons of people, just so you can get enough spirit points to buy that torch or really cool new fruit.

Graphics: Comparable to legend of Zelda, good for that time.

Sound: The sound effects are all really good. Everything just sounds right, bombs going off. Demons coming out of people to attack you, throwing fruit, it all just sounds the way it's supposed to. The music is a different story. It's good at first, playing a catchy hymn (who knew there was such a thing?) but it replays that same song throughout the 8 or so hours of gameplay, with no breaks that I could remember. I quickly turned the music off and turned on the radio.

Value: I checked their website, and they are still charging $20 for this game. Is it worth it in today’s world? I don't know. It is the best christian video game ever, but it is also 15 years old. Your choice I guess.

Conclusion The Gameplay somehow keeps it fresh and throwing new challenges at you. Something new and surprising always happens.
However, at times it can get somewhat tedious. Nevertheless it is still a great game and if you can find it at a yard sale for five bucks I would definitely recommend this family friendly game, that just about anyone can play and enjoy!
