A Highly Challenging Game!! Spiderman and Venom at their best!

User Rating: 8.6 | Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage SNES
Maximum Carnage came out in 1994 for the SNES and Genesis. This game basically followed the Final Fight/Streets of Rage series because this game is also a side scrolling Beat- Em-Up. And a good one a that!
The only difference is that your two characters have different weebing abilities. As the game's name suggests, you will be fighting against Carnage (and his army of thugs/followers/super-villians), who is Venom's symbiote brother in a weird way. But, don't worry, because Spidey and Venom also get a little help from Black Cat, Firestar, Cloak, and other Marvel super-heroes. Although the gameplay is really simple to pick up and play, the game is really complex to master, and it can get hard after a few of the beginning levels. There are also a variety of web attacks to be used against your foes. For this time, the graphics were great. Although they probably could've been better, they were exceptionally good. All the levels were vibrant, and look just like NYC. I think the strong point of the game is the music. They used perfect music that fit in with the levels. The tracks are very up-beat, and will keep you alert throughout the game. I think the biggest flaw of this game is that there isn't any multiplayer in the game. If there was multiplayer, it would probably make the game more enjoyable, and would've brought down the difficulty.

All in All, This is one of the best games featuring Spiderman and Venom. If you enjoy Marvel, and you like Beat-Em-Ups, you shouldn't pass this game up.
