"Spider-Man 3 for the PS2 lacks of replay value and adds almost nothing to the previous release.."

User Rating: 5 | Spider-Man 3 PS2
The third delivery, of the film´s adaptation, shows very little effort in adding value to the previous adapted version of Spider-Man 2´s .

Originally released along with Spiderman 3´s movie and for a series of multiplatform consoles, Spiderman 3 maintains the gameplay Grand Theft Auto-style, with an retort of New York´s City, that sooner or later falls in a repetitive state that steals previous´s games joy.

The controls underwent slight changes, and for the pity of the gameplayers the fights tends to concentrated in a more button-smashing than in the combination of buttons to make combos ; generating in this delivery smaller combo possibilities and minor diversion time when fighting.
The graphics did not undergo a transcendental change, and what makes a deeper pain is to see how, while you move away of the city the textures of the same are reduced in quality.

The sound is practically the best thing of the game, nevertheless it tends to cut in some scenes, especially in mission times. The voices of the actors are also a remarkable point, although without a doubt you will pass the game most of the time listening just to Tobey Maguire more than to any other.

The options, adds the possibility of learning new abilities. Nevertheless, these abilities are not as well-developed, compared to those of Spider-Man 2, and often you will feel bored to see the few things spidey has learned in all these years. History, is similar to the one of the film, with some changes in thematic, adding scenes related to how the relation of Peter and Mary Jane is deteriorated; nevertheless, side- stories are added involving the Lizard, Kraven and others than do nothing to add a clear line to the story and that often seem to being added just for a filling the game.

The enemies and the AI are other fact that steals the replay value and the weill to fight the battles, this fact, along with the poor fight style aid nothing to the game.. However, the best addition of the game is the black suit of Spiderman, with which without a doubt spidey gets stronger, jumps higher and has different abilities.

In himself, Spiderman 3 is a game very similar to the previous one, but that instead of making improvements, it extracts elements that (again) gave the replay value to the game, like the one from the pizza´s delivery or the aid to people in New York. Finally it seems that the game for the PS2 focused more in the possible yield of an adapted game from a film, than in the videogame players fans of our friendly neighborhood Spiderman. Definitively rent it first.
