Fun Addictive game. Has an old school feel. Too bad it also has old-school graphics to go along with it's good qualities

I must say that I enjoyed Spiderman 2. It has an addictive quality about it. I still have not figured out the formula for this addictiveness but I do know that some games have it and others don't. Spiderman 2 has it.

GAMEPLAY: The gameplay in spiderman is almost done to perfection. The core of the battle system is a bit simple compared to other action-oriented games but it was necessary due to the nature of the game. However, there are tons of more advanced moves that most people probably won't learn but if you take the time you will find it rewarding. The events of the game unfold in a mostly unlinear way. Tons of side-missions to complete at your own discretion make you feel like you are a real vigilante. There are tons of challenges and bonus items scattered around the island of manhattan. BTW, yes you can traverse the entire island of manhattan, complete with all the famous spots and neighborhoods like the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Empire State building, Madison Square Garden, Central Park, etc. The game environment is huge, and considering that you can climb on every roof, fire-escape and wall as well as walk on the streets it feels very big. I love it!

GRAPHICS: The graphics pretty much suck. Spiderman's model and some of the main characters are acceptable but the citizens are plain, generic, and a bit repetitive, and some of the environments are a tad on the plain side. I can't hate on them too much for this though because this is the price you pay to have a huge open-ended environment with no loading times.

SOUND: The voice-acting is very good but there is simply not enough music. Some of the sound bits are a bit repetitive, however maybe I'm too picky because every game that has sound bits is reptitive.

REPLAY VALUE: This game has great replay value. In fact of all the games I have in my collection this one is among the top 3 as far as replay value, there is just so much to do, and the fact that the open-ended environment is so huge that you'll truly have to play this game for hundreds of hours until you are completely familar with all the neighborhoods and streets.

CONCLUSION: It's a great game. Really fun and loads of replay value. The only major drawback are the graphics but as long as you are just playing this game for fun and not to show off your systems abilities, it's all good. This game is recommended.
