It's been 10 years since the release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2. That's almost a century in fighting-game years, but the wait is just about over--Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is almost here, and it wants to take you for a ride. Like its predecessor, MvC3 features fast-paced three-on-three fighting with a roster that comprises both old and new characters from Marvel and Capcom's respective libraries. Have you ever wanted to have a team made up of Thor, Amaterasu, and Captain America? Well, now you can have it. Controls have been streamlined, but the action is still just as hectic as before.
Today, we're revealing Marvel vs. Capcom 3's Shadow Mode, which you can see in the screenshots above. Shadow Mode is downloadable content that will let you face off against a team of AI opponents modeled after the habits and tendencies of Capcom's development staff and, according to Capcom, famous players from the fighting game scene. The first Shadow Mode pack will include teams and AI from three Capcom staff members, including producer Ryota Niitsuma, associate producer Akihito Kadowaki, and a QA tester. Additionally, the first pack is scheduled for release in March with more packs becoming available for download at a later date. If you ever wanted to say you beat the producer of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 at his own game, this is your best shot.

I never understood some of the hate people had for Marvel vs Capcom 2. Mostly hardcore fighter fans, but I was so glad they brought it back to PSN/XBL since I traded my PS2 copy in accidentally cause I thought the disc was scratched (but really my PS2 stopped reading CD type discs). Now I can't wait to get my hands on MvsC3. But to be honest I'm going to wait a bit cause I don't want to pay $60 for this, I know Capcom is going to drop the price and probably release some paid updates later. That's all they did with SF4.
I think a Marvel M-Rated action fighting game would be cooler. It would have dark graphics and have fights to the death, all in a very neat story that somehow pits hero to hero against eachother.
Shadow mode will keep the game going. You'll always have a challenge. Just hoping it will be free

@Xplode_77 Technically Anime is animated like TV shows and the comic form is Manga. I don't read it myself I just have heard people complain about it enough to remember.
Wonder if they will be releasing many patches to keep re-balancing the game as people play since they can do that this gen.

this game will crush wit heaz all those wannabe beat em up like tekken,soul calibur etc etc finaly a pure hardcore beat em up coming and its not friendly at all u need skills and reflects to master it...we have a true king in the fighting genre finaly and its coming this year
This is the 1 game i have been patiently waiting 4 4 11 years now. Its almost here. This game will b up 4 game of the year. It might not win, but it'll b in the running (when wuz the last time a fighting game won game of the year).

Never played MVC2. This game might just be interesting but I am looking forward to MK more.
I really wanna pick this one up. Haven't gotten a new fighting game since Street Fighter IV and it's about time for a new one. I don't think I'll be able to get it on day 1 though unfortunately, but I will have it before February is over. *crosses fingers*
So glad to see that the few comments on here are from people who are actually looking forward to this game, rather than slagging off the roster. Getting really sick and tired of people talking bad about Capcom's choices. Personally, I think their choices are awesome. Thor is finally there and he is one of my fav comic book characters, Wesker is also an inspired and utterly awesome choice. I'm already writing down my team choices.
YES! it's definitely one of the most anticipated and it's just around the corner!:) I am so looking forward to playing this game! granted, it doesn't have as many characters as MvC2, but who cares? 10yrs is a long wait and I'm ready to play regardless of who is in it and who is not in it.
I've been playing MvC2 lately to get myself warmed up. Goin'a be fun! I'm ready to be taken for a ride.
