Welcome to the final Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Costume Breakdown. If you haven't been keeping up, we've been highlighting the costumes and their color alternates with insight from both Marvel and Capcom on their inspiration for each costume. With the final entry, we're continuing with that theme, but this time we're focusing on the DLC costumes. We've broken them down by group and in order of release date, which you can find at the end of each grouping. The Jill and Shuma costumes, as well as those found in the Costume Pack, are already available.

Additionally, a value pack, which contains all 48 costumes, will be released on March 6, 2012, and will cost $20.00 on PSN or 1,600 points on Xbox Live.

Comments for Capcom characters are from Capcom's own Mike Lunn and Brett Elston, and comments for Marvel's characters are from Marvel's own Chris Baker.

You guys seem to be forgetting that mortal kombat froze a helluva lot, in some regions like russia people who paid for DLC lost the ability to use it when the russian psn mk store went down.

Only an absolute fool would take Ed Boon over capcom.

@soup86bone Seth Killian specifically stated (though I take anything said with a grain of salt at this point) that the reason this version came so soon was due to release scheduling for both Marvel and Capcom with games and this was the only window open for some time, so while I seriously doubt there will be more versions, if there will be, it probably won't be for some time. Waiting wouldn't be a bad idea, I didn't buy vanilla because I knew there was going to be a new one, just surprised it came so soon.

I would normally be excited for all this, but I think I'll keep my ear to the ground for another version of MVC3 before I trade in my original to buy 12 new characters and stages, when the next will have even more!!! So really, if you are really excited about a game, buy it on the opening day with the rest of the fanboys, then less than a year later trade it in for a fraction of what it was worth to put down on a "discounted" upgrade. I'll wait to see if they milk it a third time. If they're gonna do it like this, I'd prefer to get the definite final version!

this is riduculous, what an absurd set of costumes... even on costumes, capcom can't prevent themselves from being lazy.... arthur's skeleton costume is lol i like it & cap america's shield looks great w/ no mask on... but come on what about the rest??? you shoulda atleast made some far different like say spidey, a good alternate would be peter parker himself, or ghost rider w/o the flame or in johnny blaze form... or how about chris showing off those biceps or something

& pls i dont see the point frank west's alternate is megaman when capcom can obviously insert his megabyte size sprite into the game itself .........sheesh

It may seem "unfair" but seriously guys look around.
EVERY Year we get a New Madden and a new COD, Capcom just wants to keep 1 game and keep it lasting than making the same thing another year later.
Street Fighter 4 is STILL Street Fighter 4, were not getting another game thats the same crap, just updates to keep it alive and better for cheaper.
Same thing goes for MVC3, Ultimate is just to balance it out and to change the system so it can stay alive.
You can hate on it, but its so Capcom doesnt have to be Activision and we can just have 1 main game instead of 5 different ones.

i am glad that i didn't buy this game
capcom used to be my favorite
    now it keeps getting lower
it is sad to see them exploit players even if it was marketing
trust, quality and continuous improvement are also important!

What a lot of the a$$ kissers don't understand is that all of this could have been packaged in the game already and as a full dlc for the vanilla mvc3. I now hate capcom.

First of all, those who are complaining about the character costume DLC, just don't buy it. The point is it is OPTIONAL! YOU DON'T NEED IT TO ENJOY THE GAME! Nor do you have to fork over extra cash to experience new forms of gameplay, they are giving FREE DLC that adds new gameplay. I won't argue with people who think its a cash grab due to it being roughly the same game and being released so soon, that a perfectly legit complaint and I think you should speak up on that. But whining about Megman X and optional DLC costumes are just stupid. MK gave every character free costumes? Great, that's very nice of Netherealm. Doesn't mean every game has to do business the same way. Upset Frank and Zero have X costumes but no X? Cut your wrists, it's more likely Capcom wanted you to at least have this then no X at all. Would you really feel all that different if Frank and Zero had different alternates? I doubt it. You are likely just looking for reasons to complain that a character you like didn't make it in. I'm sorry but Megaman X is not a playable character in UMvC3, the game is not made specifically for you.

Most of the costumes look great, some not so much, as I am sure most will likely see it. When I eventually do pick this game up, I might grab one or two, depending on how much time I sink into this one. Glad I didn't get vanilla, I get more content for a lower price. (Fyi, I called this before vanilla came out, just surprised UMvC3 came THIS soon.)
