Maker Faire is all about the "do it yourself" scene, or DIY as it's commonly known. The fair is an offshoot of MAKE magazine, which is filled with projects and how-tos for a variety of different hobbies that run the gamut from clothing to robotics. The show took place on the 22nd and 23rd of May in San Mateo, California.

The two day show had a tremendous amount to offer - far more than we could catalog. Between the events, booths and various goings on, we barely scratched the surface with these shots. Art exhibits came in all sizes, some could fit in the palm of our hand, others were train sized. The event broke down into a combination of informational, hands-on, and demonstrative components. The shear breadth of the show left us wondering what to do next: stare at the sculptures, climb life-size rockets, or simply play with Legos and learn how to solder. Flip through what we managed to capture.

Robots were featured heavily throughout the show, ranging from tiny motorized arms to large treaded behemoths.

Saxxonfury: That's not a Protectron, It's Robby the Robot from the movie "Forbidden Planet". The Protectron's in Fallout 3 were modeled to resemble the robot from that movie, but they're not exactly the same.

It looks like they made a few things from games, like the Protectron from Fallout 3 and the hotrod from Brutal Legend.
