Arkane Studios' Dishonored is exciting for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that we've seen very little of it since last year's QuakeCon. Playing as an assassin with a supernatural repertoire that includes such abilities as possessing other living things, summoning a plague of rats, and teleporting sounds like a lot of fun. Doing all of these things in a seventeenth-century-London-inspired steampunk city sounds even better. But what really has us excited are the supposedly countless ways that it's possible to approach each of the assassination missions. The devil will be in the details, of course, but the idea that you might be able to complete a game in which you play as an assassin without ever killing anyone and without ever being seen is intriguing to say the least. That should be an achievement worth getting for sure.
