The Bottom Line:
"Immersive"
Spec Ops: The Line is a great game. At first I didn't like it, but it started to grow on me. It's not the typical control layout for a game of this type, but you do get used to it.

The graphics look great and as you progress through the game you see the characters' clothing and physical features deteriorate which is realistic and unlike any other game of this type. You run out of ammo during firefights and have to "command" your team to focus fire on enemies. You have to search for intel and ammo or pick up enemy weapons just to stay in the game. I don't remember many other games where you don't have 500 rounds of ammo or just an indefinite or unneeded amount to make it through a mission. Spec Ops: The Line keeps you on one timeline. The entire game moves from area to area seemlessly, so you don't get to start fresh between each area. Yes, there are ammo cans and grenade boxes, but you pick up a realistic amount of each. Some ammo cans only hold 2 or 3 magazines for your weapon. All of this gives you a very immersive feeling and a feeling that each round of ammo must find a target.

I won't spoil the ending, but via flashbacks you get to see some things that looked a bit different as you were playing through. Pretty Cool.

Overall, a buy. Don't spend $40 or $50 on it, but if you can pick it up under $40 then do it.
