Spartan Total Warrior is fun, fast and quite gory!

Ever since I saw the film "300" in the theatre, my interest in subjects related to Spartan history had grown and I just hoped that a game based on the film would be released. It wasn't until a few months ago that a friend of mine lent me Spartan:Total Warrior, a game that he described as being "BRILLIANT".
So, I played it.

At first, I wasn't really impressed. Knowing that it's quite an old game, the graphics weren't going to be top-notch. However when the game REALLY started to get going, things became manic, and by that I mean Awesome!
Out of nowhere, I get this half techno half orchestral score that somehow fits the battles perfectly, making them more exciting and enjoyable. Then, there's THE GORE!!!!! The game has quite a lot of it: heads get cut off, soldiers go flying, explode....I couldn't help laughing sometimes. So being a fan of violence ^^ i was pretty satisfied.
One of the game's other strong points is the special kills. When the Spartan gets enough hits, his sword(s)/hammer/spear/ will glow red. Then you can unleash your rage! The game will then go into slow-mo town and with a fierce battle cry, the Spartan will dive into enemy troops and slice off more heads than you can count!
However you won't just be fighting Romans, you will also face legendary creatures such as the Hydra, the giant Ladon, and also living dead.
And, cherry on the cake, the game also throws in some jokes that some will find amusing.

So overall, in no way is Spartan:Total Warrior a perfect game but it's a fun, frantic action packed game that action-lovers or people interested in Spartan history will love playing! I had a helluva good time playing this so I'm giving it a 8.5/10. GREAT RECOMMENDED
