Playing this game a few years ago, I loved it. Playing it again today, I find myself liking it. kinda. sorta.
The plot is quite interesting, and seems to develop in a constant way. I liked some ideas a lot. Especially liked the character development on Roger and all other character, (expect for Flo, which seemed useless all together, and was the only character that didn't beam down with you on any planet). Roger is also quite a badass in this game, commands and receives respect from his comrades, which i thought was kinda nice.
The game's difficulty makes you think that it's a long game, but in fact, If you know what to do, you could probably finish it in less than 20 minutes.
Sound was just okay, a lot of sound effects were repetitive, and the music, to be quite honest, could irritate after a while. No speech in this game, altho talkies were around at the time this game came out. Overall, the sound is the weaker point of the game.
In terms of graphics, the game looks like an interactive comic book, which is very original. Although, the sprites of most of the characters were kinda weak, especially the walking animation. There isn't a lot of "pixel hunting" in the game, but a lot of the puzzles need the use of something in the background that doesn't even look interactive-able. But whether or not this is a negative aspect is arguable.
And what else is there? I enjoyed the game, that I did, But seemingly it appears too dated by now, and doesn't hold up, I'm afraid. Overall, good. Not great.
