South Park: Stick of Truth is a game that serves its audience well. If you're a fan of South Park and you're wary that this is a cheap cash-in or a half-arsed job, fear no longer because the game rocks. It really does feel like you're living in the South Park universe via an episode/movie. Throughout your adventure, you 'LARP' around meeting numerous South Park characters and enjoying a multitude of inside jokes that fans of the series would recognize right away.
Everything is very faithful to the core material, and that's what makes this game so much fun. That, and of course the gameplay. It's pretty much standard turn-based RPG fare with 'companions', but why reinvent the wheel if you don't need to? Although seemingly simple, little things like making the combat interactive and allowing customization of your weapons and armor makes everything very satisfying. Having fun gameplay on top of a faithfully made South Park game and hilarious story really is just the icing on the cake.
So really with Stick of Truth, you can have your cake AND eat it too. That is, unless of course, you just don't find South Park funny. In which case you probably shouldn't eat the cake. Because Scott Tenorman's parents.
