Gamespot scored a 10 for Soul Calibur when it was released for the Dreamcast. This was the first game I bought for the console almost nine years ago. The graphics, the gameplay, the musical score, everything was perfect. So I dont understand why the rerelease gets a 7.5. Why does this guys punishes this game for being something it never was? If this game was to be released as "Soul Calibur 1.5" then yeah, Im expecting that 0.5 to be extra features such as widescreen and online play. After three sequels, the first iteration of the series may not be as attractive as it was when released, but its an almost decade-old game that must be judged accordingly when it was released. Not by todays standards. So if you played Soul Calibur 2, 3 or 4, you might still enjoy the gameplay but dont expect it to have the improvemnts of the sequels, Imean, thats what sequels are for.
