What a mess.... It's like Namco took every fighter game story and put into Soul Calibur 5.

I mean c'mon Mortal Kombat used to be an ALMOST story less game and MK 9 presented like THE most compelling story i saw in a Fighting game for a long time now!Soul Calibur Should amend for that mistake on the next title presuming ofc that Namco will make another one...Please keep making Soul Calibur games Namco :(

Fighting games do (or can) have decent story modes. Blazblue and Melty Blood for two.

games with bad stories--sigh. if they can't tell a good story, they shouldn't tell one at all. it just takes away from the game. all that effort could've been put into making more useful content.

It wouldn't be Soulcalibur without a terrible, overly dramatic story that you can barely fallow...

Actually the most recent Mortal Kombat had a brilliantly-written story. And it was blended in seamlessly to introduce the backstory of almost every character in the game. I had no idea that Cyrax was part of the Lin Kuei clan and unwillingly made into a cyborg. You can even play Cyrax before he became a cyborg! After playing Mortal Kombat in 2011, I don't think I can ever play another the "story mode" of another fighting game without fully-produced cinematics with video and dialogue.

to be fair though, Blazblue CT had a decent story too bad Blazblue CS f-ed it up... "OMG WHAT IS GOING ON HERE I DO NOT FOLLOW..." "OMG IS THAT MICHAEL JACKSON?!?!" "OMG WHY IS THERE A GIRL IN PURPLE ALL OF A SUDDEN?!?!" "WTF DID U DO TO UR DAM STORY BLAZBLUE!!!"
