for now...but he'll find new enemies to rail against. Will YOU be there to join in, or be smart enough to not engage?

Lol, Oh I won't, I hope not, but I think we sort of scared him off. I was a lurker on this board since around March, and from then I constantly saw him picking on people, or just run in a casual discussion topic, and say things like"Well TC you are stupid for thinking this, and an even worse poster for..." So I felt something needed to be said, lol.

However despite all this, I don't have as much animosity for SirAltair as most people probably think. Or towards anyone on this forum, really.
This is just an internet forum, so the true responsibility lies with the moderators for keeping the place civil. Which they have failed at doing. So if anything, the people I hold the most malice for on this message board, are the current site administrator(s). Gamefaqs used to be a great forum before the current administration took over. If you look at the current ToS rules, they are 90% different from the original rules in writing, and 100% different regarding how they are actually enforced.
There's always going to be idiots or bad people in the world. Everything is relative and people are always going to have disputes. It's unrealistic to think that people like SirAltair or others on this board (the majority of Soul Calibur board members, actually) will behave themselves without proper enforcement.
Off the message boards however, the reverse holds. I wouldn't give a crap if I met the site administrator of Gamefaqs in real life, because he probably wouldn't give a crap about me. Yet if I met SirAltair or whirow in real life, probably one of us would wind up dead from the encounter because the animosity between us is just that great. So it's better if we never meet.

If I ever met Altair irl, I'd give him a big hug because he probably needs it.
or a sucker punch to the teeth.

Whoa! Whoa! Ease up on the hostility brother, hahaha!
There are thousands of people who act like Altair, think like Altair, even would say the exact same retort in specific contexts as Altair. You just have to admit to yourself there will be people inferior to you who will claim they are better than you.
I see plenty of elitists who go on game boards, and boast about how great they are. But the problem is that it doesn't satisfy them to be just "good" or "very good" they need to climb on top of other people's heads and claim they are "superior". That mindset is what single handedly destroys fighting game communities in my opinion. Too many Altair's, not enough casual players who just enjoy hard matches.

Thanks for the advice. I totally understand, what you just said is exactly how I view the message boards. Altair doesn't concern me here, only site administration does.
But offline, in real life, I have to take a much more active stance. Anyone who hates each other as much as we do are threats to each others' lives. I feel that to assume less would be naive. I would not attend any arcade or tournament that people such as those are participating in without a concealed bladed weapon or firearm, unless the tournament organizers conducted searches on everyone who entered the tournament and/or security guards were everywhere.
But yeah, if we don't know who we are in real life, it's no big deal either. There's a lot of idiots, muggers, and murderers in the street, but I feel no compulsion to carry a defensive weapon of any kind. Even though I probably should.

Um...you're being a little extreme porcupine? People can harbor strong hatred for each other without really feeling the need to physically hurt them. It's more of an ego battle than anything.

Lol the SC community is still alive, but I bet it would be thriving if they released more DLC or made some major mode updates to keep people coming back. Look at Tekken Tag 2, can't believe they are giving away free stuff like pre-order bonuses and whole roster costume sets, crazy....

Well, first off, you'd never be at an offline event because you're all talk; you don't even play this game to begin with, and you're talking about going to offline events? Regardless, you can go ahead and bring a concealed weapon if it makes you feel better. I will do no such thing, because I don't believe in assaulting people over a video game. If you don't attack me, there will be no physical altercation between the two of us, because the only way I'm hitting someone at a tournament is in an act of self-defense. If you DO assault me, congrats, you'll be well on your way to a criminal record. If you actually KILL me, well, I'll use my dying moments to take solace in the fact that you'll rot in prison for the rest of your life. Pick your poison, sunshine.
