A great weapon-combat game!

User Rating: 9 | SoulCalibur III PS2
I'll be honest, the reason I got this game was for the fact that I can create my own character. I don't see that very often in a fighting game! (excluding Fighter Maker; what a horrible game)
I played the first Soul Calibur way back in the days of the Dreamcast, so I was familiar with this game.
However, compared to the original and part two, this one stands tall. Not only is the game advanced, but a lot of the character's moves are simple to pull off,
unlike in the second game.
For example, Cassandra's combo *down, triangle, up, triangle, square, square* was almost impossible to pull off in the SC2. Instead of doing the full combo, she would do a two-hit combo which ended in a sword thrust. Now, in
SC3, pulling off that combo is child's play. The game just seems to understand the buttons you've pressed, nowadays.
Sure, there are plenty of people who would say that SC2 is better than SC3, but if you want my opinion, they might just be saying that because they played the Gamecube version and fell in love with Link. He's an ok fighter, but
he doesn't make the game better. In terms of a better game, it's SC3.
I've yet to play SC4, so until then, this is the best.....and even when I do play
SC4, regardless of all the new characters (whoever they may be), Setsuka will
always be my number one girl!
