Although it is a good game, like SCII, there is nothing much new. "This blade is beggining to dull"-Gamepro Magazine

User Rating: 8.3 | SoulCalibur III PS2
Namco brings Soul Calibur back, but this time it is a PS2 exclusive. With virtually the same modes and only a few characters, Soul Calbur III is not as good as I anticipated. The create-a-character mode is a good addition, however.

Gameplay-Great. The gameplay is just as fun as SC2. The create-a-character mode is a lot of fun, and one of the only new innovations. Just as last time, you will spend time beating the modes, learning the characters, and unlocking all the features. However, the level system was scrapped. You will spend more time learning the characters since their can be more characters with the character creater.

Graphics-Superb. Beatifully detailed levels and characters.

Sound-Great. Different tracks for different levels.Good. The music is enjoyable and the sound is of high quality.

Story-Mediocre. The story varies slightly for different characters, but the story and scenarios are pretty dull.

Replayability-Good. Learning all the characters and unlocking everything contributes to this factor.

Button Layout/Control-Good. It varies for each character, but the basic layout is easy to learn.

Overall-A good play, but I really can't say anything about it being new or innovative. I can't see the series going to 4, unless it has some serious improvements or wonderfully innovative features. For a fan of the series, however, you should still play it. For anyone else, I'd reccomend renting it first.

Extras-Character Creation,unlockables.
