If you are one of those people who lost hours of sleep in anticipation for this game, you will be sorely disappointed. However, if you thought, "Hey, that game could be alright," and then read the reviews on this website, you may have a good time. For me, I was the later. I read the reviews within the range of 1.0 to about 5.5. These reviews told me this game sucks, and that it should never be purchased. But, then, I saw reviews giving it a 7 or an 8. So, I decided to rent it. This was a great idea! Graphics, not so good. The game looks like it should have been a launch title for the Xbox. That said, graphics DO NOT make the game. This was evidenced by Doom 3, a beauitful, yet utterly boring game. The framrate does die down to unacceptable levels at times, and the edges become a little choppy, but in all they are not HORRENDUS by any means. Sound is another issue. To me, it just seems that there were many bugs. The sound fluctuates. The music will be quiet, then really loud for a second, then back to quiet. For me, though, the experience was to ruined by the bugs. Controlls and gameplay are NOT as bad as nearly everyone makes them seem. Perhaps I am just a softie for game developers, but this game had me running around, blasting baddies with simple gameplay. The lock on system was flawed, but not NERALY to the extent that the Gamespot review pertrayed it to be. You do not have to lock on to an enemy, and you can "un-lock" eventually if you really wanted to. The voice over acting is, in my humble opinion, very well done. I really had a great time listing to the characters converse. In all, the game if fine. It is not AMAZING and it is not HORRABLE. My suggestion is to rent it and see for yourself.
