Because it's still got the top notch gameplay you love. The problems occur when you realize that the series awesome engine isn't up to par...
First off the few problems from previous games are still here! The Character balance being the biggest. At times it seems like one character is so dominantly stronger that you just feel like giving up. Also the AI is CHEAP!!! Enemies suffer from some extreme rubber-banding at times. While not a big problems for the hardcore crowd, it can really ruin it for people who are just looking for a simple fighting game
But whats great about SC3 is it's new features. Character customization is excellent and the Tales of Souls mode is a pretty fun diversion. Chronicle of the sword, a mode which mixes RPG/Strategy/ Fighting elements is slow, but can be pretty fun...until you meet...wait for...SUPER CHEAP BATTLES!!!!
So overall SC3 aint bad. It's just flawed. It's difficult for all the wrong reasons and lacks the "charm" from previous installments. Yet, it can still be addicting. And if you like fighters, you'll love this game
