Intensity and cinematics come together to create......... Soul Caliber 3!

User Rating: 10 | SoulCalibur III PS2
THE GOOD: Flashy graphics and intense gameplay.

THE BAD: Characters' stories are identical.

THE WEIRD: As it says, some characters are a little weird (Yoshimitsu, Voldo,...).

Wow!

Gameplay: This is what this game is all about. Gameplay is intense, quick, flashy, smooth and hardcore!
There are several modes of play, some, however, may never even be touched.
First off, there is the story mode for each character. This gives you an objective through some text and impressively smooth cutscenes. Although you have to wait the scene through, they are all short and some even require you to carry out special button commands in order to avoid being attacked or some other equivalent. Not that you would even want to skip the scene cuz, usually, they are very interesting, even the scenes that are repeated for every character.
Speaking of, for every character's story, many things and scenes are completely identical. Too bad they could not come up with a unique story for each character instead of just reliving them all. This, however, will bother you little.

Graphics: This is great! Graphics are extremely smooth, colorful and BURN-YOUR-EYES-OUT flashy. With many attacks comes lightening, fire, and neon light effects. Even the characters alone are brightly colored and interestingly styled.

Sound: Very good! Through the intense fights, you could hear slicing and clangs and shattering. The sounds are very unique and realistic. Voice acting is very impressive for a 3D Fighting game. It''s about as good as RPG voice acting, although, there is the rare, weak speaker.

Overall: Worth the investment!
