Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection User Review
This is a great game with many feautures, yet is plagued by a few small almost unnoticable bugs.

Sonics Ultimate Genesis Collection is a great game for any fan of the genesis, or any person looking for a great compilation pack of games. The game hosts 39 classic genesis games, and 10 master system/ arcade games. It also features interviews with many employees who worked with Sega at the time of these games release and the history of every game on there. The games for the most part are all emulated very well, so you may ask, is there any downfalls to this game? Well frankly yes there are a few downfalls to it and I will elaborate them further now.
For one, a few of the games have fairly weird controls. To me the most extreme example in this was in the game Comix Zone your character has the ability to hold 3 items in a very small inventory of sorts, now since Comix Zones start menu lacks the ability to select the items there you must select them in game, the controls to select the items are LB RB and Y, now you'd assume that it would be LB- Left Item RB- Right Item and Y- center right? Well wrong it is LB- left RB- Center and Y-Right, now obviously this is not a huge deal but I have found that in several boss fights I have accidentally selected "rat" instead of "Super Fist" and have died because of it. (the whole game of SUGC has a very nice save feature however so this was not too bad.).
Another small flaw is the sound emulation in a few games, the biggest case of this is in Space Harrier, the sound of it is almost entirely different from its original genesis version, I have also been told that a few others have small s0ound emulation problems but have not yet encountered them.
Other than these few things every thing works greatly. So that is why I give the game a 9/10
Also, just a few extra notes about the game. For one it has fairly easy achievements, so achievement junkies this may be the game for you.
Also it only sells for a 30 dollar price tag so you get a lot for the money seeing as most genesis games on the VC cost 8 bucks.

Old school game collections that are this complete are both a rarity and a delight.

Very lazy & ruined a lot of my gaming memories. Shining Force 2 still rules though.
