A decent selection of old Sega games. Two player games make this worthwhile. Great value. Lacks variety.

To be honest I looked at the the lineup of games for this collection and I was disappointed. In this collection there are 40+ games. Half the games I play and keep playing, the rest I experiment with. For me Including Streets of Rage 1,2,3 was sold me for this collection. Overall the collection feels incomplete and is missing a few notable games, like perhaps Strider, Forgotten Worlds, Toejam and Earl, California Games. Maybe they are planning several collections. I believe having a super collection with like 80 games would of been possible and a better way to go. I may not be compelled to buy another collection if a 2nd one is released in the future.

Those familar with the old Sega games will get a kick of nostalgia. This collection has many two player games which is a great selling point. I think the overall collection suffers from an absense of games from certain genres eg. Scrolling Shooters, Sports, and Racing. It also has alot of games with sequels, eg. Street of Rage 1,2,3, Golden Axe 1,2,3, Phantasy Star 2,3,4. Its nice to have a complete series so one can see how it has evolved, but surely more original games without sequels should of been included to make this collection feel complete.

There are afew unlockable games, and some videos as extras. There are achievements for gamer points. The HD improvement for the graphics, basically is Pixel smoothing which will smooth the rough edges around the sprites and backgrounds. This work great for some games that have a decent color palette, however some games depend on pixel art and use less colors, with pixel smoothing they look terrible. Thankfully this feature can be turned on or off.

Do some research and see what games are in the collection. Then decide from there if you want to buy.
