This was the first Sonic game and was a huge hit in the US and other places, and why not? It's a great game. Unlike that dishoner of the game on PS3 and Xbox360 GAMEPLAY:
This had many things for speed and such, as well as obsticles and such that add to a challenge. However, there are times this is a bad thing, there are some areas where there are TOO many obsticles and it made it a lot of the time do to some movement issues, it would be near impossible to avoid or sometimes when going, you won't see them until it's too late. So this game is pretty challenging.

GRAPHICS:
For a retro game, this had some pretty impressive graphics I think, especially since Genesis has lower graphics then the SNES.

SOUND:
MUSIC WISE:
Good music and such, near none of it is bad.
EFFECT WISE:
Good sound effects for the rings, springs, spikes and such.
VOICE WISE:
No voices except "SEGA" so no review on this part.

OVERALL:
If you have a Genesis, get this game, or download it for the Wii or even buy Sonic Mega Collection or Sega Genesis Collection, it's a good game.
