The good: Better then Sonic Drift's 1, and 2, and Sonic R, great graphics, music is pretty catchy

The bad: Control scheme hasn't improved, tracks are very weird and hard to play on

In 1994, Sonic Drift was released in Japan, with no success (It was later released through Sonic adventure DX in America). Somehow, it managed to get a horrible sequel. Following that, Sonic R, another horrible racer, showed no signs of competition. Can Sonic Riders provide some more space? Apparently, yes. Sonic Riders is a huge improvement from the 3 awful racers before it, and it can occassionally be very fun. If you can face the control schemes and the unfair level design, then this is a blast for you.

Game-play: 8/10

The game-play is pretty neat, with extra characters like Jet the Hawk, Storm the Albatross, and some girl thing. While the game is a blast at many points, its difficulty can give you a taste of your own medicine.

Graphics: 8/10

Overall, the graphics for the characters look great, but the level design seems to be incredibly unfair. Why, do you ask, is this unfair? How should I know? I didn't make the game.

Sound: 10/10

Great Music!! The music is very cool and catchier then what the previous 3 racers "could" do.

Camera and control: 6/10

In tilt, it's mixed. The camera works very well on most points, for example, turns. However, the problem with the control is that like the first 3 racers, it is incredibly clunky. Some points, such as the first stage, it can be quite frustrating to finish the race first.

Value: 8/10

Sonic Riders is an entertaining racer for Sonic fans and those who aren't.

Average Score: 8.2/10

Sonic Riders is a treat foir those who hated the first 3 Sonic racing games, and if you love speed, this can give you it. Its amazing looks and bright music make it a game you'll need to play. If you love all kinds of racing games, you'll obviously have a blast with Sonic Riders.
