"Sonic is back with his extreme gear"
Story 6/10
Sonic and his friends are looking for the chaos emeralds at metal city. A new group called the Babylon rogues came out of nowhere to challenge sonic.The next day, eggman set up a contest in which you ride extreme gear and with the chaos emeralds on the line, sonic and his friends are ready to race and find out who are the called Babylon rogues. Overall, the story is good in this game but it only six races long which is short.
game play 8/10
The best part of the game is the game play. Instead of running like in most sonic games, you ride on extreme gear, which makes you float in the air. You do tricks by just using the x button and the stick most trick are simple and they will grade you. There are three types of characters, speed, fly, and power. Speed can go over rails, fly can do what it said, fly at some spots and power can hit anything in their way, overall, it all feels the same. There are 5 track at the start of the game but you will get more later. There also a shop you can buy more extreme gear but by the time you get bored of this game, you will still have to keep on unlocking more stuff. There also a mission mode but once you finish everything, there not much left to come back and pick up the game again.
Graphic 7/10
The graphic are good for the game. The bad part is that sometimes there too much action of the screen that you might be confused for a couple of seconds. The graphic are best if you play them on the game cube but play station 2 and xbox still have great graphics
Controls 7/10
The control are smooth, no lag that I know of but walking is super slow and it seems kind of pointless to have that. Most of time, even though you might be a different character, they all feel the same. Overall here, the controls are good but not that great.
Sound 7/10
Sonic games have been know for having theme songs that are rock music, this one is no different. Most of the music is ok but it forgettable and sometimes, you might just want to mute the game and listen to your own music because of the all the sounds going on at once. Alright music but their always room for improvement.
Overall
It a great game, there room for much improvement in sonic riders, but good job sonic team for making a alright game.
