Sonic Riders PS2 Review. 7.6/10. Overall it's a game that isn't what it could have been but delivers some fun mom
Overall the gameplay was actually pretty fun, and when it wasn't so difficult to win it had memorable moments. The story was something that I actually liked and wanted to play through just to find out more about what was going to happen next. The new characters involved in this game are pretty good, I like them more than alot of the other characters that have been introduced in the Sonic series(like Big, Cream, Rouge). It's very similar to Mario Kart, just with a Sonic twist, which is the anti-gravity hoverboard you ride on. I really liked the ability to buy more hoverboards with the coins you earn, but sadly one race only gives you a max of 100 rings..and when it takes a few thousand rings to buy an upgrade it can take a few days to get what you want. The end levels in this game get very annoying..It's trial and error with a splash of luck, but like I said earlier my 12 year old self wanted to know the story so I played through the annoying parts.
Final Verdict: 7.6/10. This is more of a game for Sonic fans, and younger kids. If that doesn't apply to you don't try it.
